THE LANCASHIRE & YORKSHIRE RAILWAY IN SALFORD

By Tom Wray

The importance of Salford as a railway centre is often under estimated. It was certainly a busy passenger station but above all it was the main Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway goods station for traffic coming into and out of Manchester on the western side of its network (Oldham Road dealt with the eastern side).

Tom traces the development of the station from its origins through to the early years of the 21st century. The book is profusely illustrated including several colour contract drawings. A real bargain.
