LYR GOODS WORKINGS Train Control and Locations A-D

This fascinating book is the first of a series detailing all the LYR's goods workings in 1920.

The LYR had the most advanced train control system in the country and Bob Mills worked in the Control Office in that period and made a detailed record of its operation which is reproduced in full in this book.

It then goes on to describe in detail every goods working departing from locations with names in the A-D range starting at Accrington and ending at Droylsden. Each location has an OS map so the reader can see the location and facilities provided. If you ever wondered how a pre-grouping railway organised its operations then this book is a must.

Highly recommended.
